Are WTK woven polypropylene bags eco-friendly?

Yes, the fabric is eco-friendly! It can be melted down, recycled, and made into other products. Woven PP last longer and can be used many times to reduce your demand from single-use products.

Woven polypropylene bag can last up to ten years if properly used.  This helps to reduce the amount of waste that ends up in landfills.

Woven PP fabric can be recycled making use of various methods such as mechanical recycling or chemical recycling.

Recycling woven PP fabric can help in reducing waste and conserve resources. It additionally assists to reduce the environmental influence of manufacturing brand-new items from virgin materials. What makes PP woven bags environmentally friendly is the low emission of carbon during the production and use of PP material.  The manufacturing process and overall use of pp woven bags virtually do not emit hazardous pollutants into the environment.

“Surprisingly, research conducted by Denmark’s Ministry of Education and Food shows that canvas bags may be more harmful to the environment.  This is because one ingredient used in making canvas is cotton. Cotton requires a large amount of water as well as pesticides and herbicides (harmful chemicals to keep away unwanted animals) in the farming process.  … The researchers found that a canvas tote bag needs to be used 7,100 times to match the environmental impact of a [PP] bag.  …Canvas bags have higher global warming potential as compared to their counterparts.”[1]

Hence offers better values in term of environmental friendliness compared to other bag options including cotton or canvas.
