1. Shapes and Color:

  • Cards: Purple square, orange circle, red triangle, green rectangle, yellow ellipse, wildcard (?)
  • Uses: Teach children about different shapes and colors. You can use these cards for activities such as matching shapes to objects in the environment, identifying colors, or creating patterns. The wildcard allows for additional flexibility, such as introducing a new shape or color.

2. Movement and Animals:

  • Cards: Eagle (soar/fly like an eagle), Frog (hop like a frog), Cat (stretch or pounce like a cat), Penguin (waddle like a penguin), Horse and pony (gallop like a pony or run like a horse), Snail (slow, slither, crawl like a snail)
  • Uses: These cards can be used to encourage physical activity and imaginative play. You can create games where children act out the movements of the animals or use them to discuss different types of movement and how animals move.

3. Storytelling Primers:

  • Cards: Raccoons in trash cans, girl on a log with a frog in a lake, treehouse in a yard with a swing, trail in a wooded forest, boy with his dog on a trail to the lake, muddy car off country
  • Uses: Stimulate creative thinking and storytelling skills. Children can use the illustrations as prompts to create their own stories or describe what’s happening in the scenes. This can be a great exercise for developing narrative skills and imagination.

4. Emotions:

  • Cards: Young girl crying, angry boy, tired boy, surprised girl, boy who is afraid, happy girl
  • Uses: Help children recognize and express their emotions. These cards can be used to discuss how different emotions look and feel, and to encourage empathy by asking children how they would feel in similar situations or how they can help others who are experiencing those emotions.

These cards offer a variety of educational and developmental opportunities for children, including learning about shapes and colors, physical activity, storytelling, and emotional recognition. They can be incorporated into both structured lessons and free play, making them a versatile tool for learning and development.
